Islin is a Norn druid (ranger) in Tyria. When she was young, she had grand plans of becoming a travelling skaald. She fell in love and married a fellow Norn adventurer named Harkon Trailblazer. They planned on exploring the world together, but when she became pregnant, knowing that his wanderlust was too strong to stay put for too long, they agreed that she would stay behind for the last part of her pregnancy and the first year or two of the child's life, and he would return for her.
Islin was a restless soul herself and planned on travelling out as soon as possible with the child, but what she thought was one turned out to be twins, and travelling with two toddlers was too much of a challenge. Instead, she settled in a forest somewhere in the Shiverpeaks where she worked as a midwife and herb healer, supporting herself and the twin girls by trapping game and gathering what the forest had to offer.

It is now sixteen years later, and with her daughters eager to start their own adventures, Islin is finally able to start her journey, and hopefully find out what happened to the husband who never returned.
